A big 'oops' at the steaming bay

Here are a few pics of a 7.5 inch gauge 2-8-4 that somehow rolled off the end of the steaming bay. Nothing was damaged apart from the pilot. Which is really amazing considering it weighs about 2000lbs. That locomotive has been featured in some of recent ' Live Steam' magazines and is probably one of the most detailed locomotives ever built.

I'd love to get into the Live Steam scales, but alas I do not currently have the room for my HO.

Live steam is certainly a different aspect of the hobby, one which is very rewarding. There isn't much that compares to actually running a coal fired steam locomotive. Many people think they have to be a machinist to be involved in the hobby. This is certainly not the case, also it can be quite affordable. It all just depends on how you get into the hobby.
