Train Show Preview: Johnson City, TN
Fellow KAMRI club member Gary Cameron has provided us with this invitation to a free model train show preview on the campus of ETSU in Johnson City, Saturday, August 4th between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This show is part of the Johnson Depot Homecoming celebration in downtown Johnson City.
This will be the first showing of the Bankus N scale layout since it was moved from Knoxville and the Mountain Empire Modular Railroad club will have their partially assembled HO layout running. Johnson City is a little over 2 hours from Oak Ridge. Take I-40 east to I-81 to I-26 south into Johnson City. In Johnson City, take the State of Franklin bypass road west going around town, past the hospital. You will see the ETSU Mini-Dome on the right and signs directing you to the show. On the way up stop at Bulls Gap for a little rail faning, see the Clinchfield yards in Erwin or what is left of the Tweetsie in JC and Elizabethton.
