N-Scale Gathering: March 18

Just a reminder that March 18 is 3rd Sunday open house at the museum. The club door should be unlocked by noon for all you KAMRI members and your guests to start getting things up and running.

Hopefully all of the n-scale mainline track repairs are still holding together after a flurry of cutting expansion gaps, soldering electrical jumpers, and spiking rails. There's still a few areas that need repairing but they are resticted to the reversing loop on the peninsula module. That won't impact running trains for Johnny and Suzie Q. Public.

We still need to fix the striker plate on the doorway from the n-scale room into the hands on area. The old museums framing seems to be about as mobile as migrant farm workers. All that's needed is to file the lower part of the strike plate opening to allow the door latch to be in alignment.

As for the multitude of other projects, that's always up to the enthusiastic individual. I might just get back to bulding the trestle on the loop module. Not to mention running some trains. I just can't decide whether to go heavy with the steam, transition era, or just hodge podge. I guess it just dosn't really matter does it. Just as long as we're having fun with trains.

We may have some decent weather and just maybe we will have some large scale running as well.

See you Sunday!
