live steam pics

Here are a few pictures that were taken last Saturday in Dunlap, TN, on the Eagle Point Railroad, and the club that owns and operates it , The Chattanooga Society of Model Engineers. I had the only operating steam locmotive that day. Each month this club has small run day instead of large meets, so there generally aren't that many trains on any particular run day. The railroad has about 10,000ft of track so far and that is only half of the planned track. This track is very hidden. you can only see a small portion of the railroad from any 1 place on the track. It also has many many trestles and bridges, including a trestle that is over 125ft long and 23ft high. Here is the web addres for their website.

Hope you like these pictures,

Re: live steam pics

WAY COOL!

From the looks of everyones coat I would say it was a bit cool that day. I bet you were glad to be sitting just behind a good hand warmer.

I would like to know when you'll be heading back down. My wife and I would like to visit.

Re: live steam pics

Thanks for the pix, Andrew!

I'll bet heading out on that trestle is a trip...

Maybe a field trip is in order if you wouldn't mind!

Re: live steam pics

Glad you liked the pics.
Bruce- I am not sure when we will be going back down, but I will tell you when I decide on the date. It will most likely be a Saturday sometime in May.
Phil- The trestle isn't too bad, because it so wide, but I take my time going across it. I would hate to derail on it.
I think a field trip could probably be arranged. It would most likely be sometime in May or in June.

The Mid-South Live Steamer's Spring meet is May4-6 so try to come.
Thanks,
Andrew
