Oliver Springs Depot...Check it out!

Last week I was able to slip intoi the restored Southern Depot in Oliver Springs, TN, just over the hill from CMOR. The building houses a library now, but more than half is chock full of old railroad artifacts and historical photos of the railroads and surrounding area.

Here's their website, which doesn't seem to show hours anywhere.

I believe the lady I spoke to said they were open 9-5 M-F, so you retirees have the best bet on a visit.

I asked her if I could take photos, and was politely told that as an agreement to get the photos donated, they promised the owners that no one would take photos INSIDE the building. Outside is fair game, however.

Some of the railroad photos are worth a visit, though... can you say Southern bobber caboose? How rare is that?

Anyhoo, check the place out. Maybe if enough of us tell them what treasures they have that they may find their way into a book sometime.
